Rambling

Finished packing up for Macau and now that the 2 kids are asleep, I can sit down and do my 'work'. Travelling with kids is a real big hoo-ha, although we are planning to go only for the weekend, it seems that we have packed for a fortnight. Milk powder, bottles, diapers, etc. We'll be leaving for Macau tomorrow after work and returning to HK on Monday. My parents-in-law and our helper, Nancy, will bring the 2 kids over first in the afternoon and Wai Lung and I'll follow suit after work. Seems like the lousy weather will persist for a few more days though, wonder what we can do there in this rainy weather?

Feeling a little nostalgic and melancholy today as it is the first anniversary of the shocked passing away of Leslie Cheung. Life is short, so buy more yarn (hey where did I read that from?). And I did.

I went to Cheer Wool in Wan Chai during lunch to pick up the Bouton D'or Dune for the Rambling Rows Afghan. They have 6 colours in stock and the afghan needs only 5. I couldn't make up my mind, as usual, so I bought a few balls of each of the 6 colours as they allow me to change later and I'll get Wai Lung to choose. Recently, there's always some 'mishap' when I visit Cheer Wool. Once I bought HK$500 worth of yarn and the sales lady, Ms. Lam. accidentally swiped my credit card for HK$5000! I didn't find out until that evening when I wanted to use the HK$500 visa receipt to redeem some free gifts (yes, I'm a cheapo). Ms. Lam was so apologetic she seemed almost scared. The second time, she accidentally put one extra bag of yarn into my bag and I didn't notice until I was on the tram back to the office. I went back to return the yarn the next day. This afternoon, I received a call at around 5pm from Ada, the other sales at Cheer Wool, that she overcharged me HK$86 and asked me to pick up the money when I have time. I love Cheer Wool as they have a fabulous selection of yarn and great service, plus the folks there are really nice and honest, don't you think so? Well, sorry for the rambling, these are the colours. Which one should I forsake?

The colours are not showing up well in this photo. Clockwise, starting from rose are faded blue, grey, pale green and beige, and in the middle, white.
