The knitting went without a hitch, the seaming went smoothly, the sleeve caps were eased in without much trouble. The sewing of the garter stitch edging was a bit tedious but I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The curved bottom edges could use a bit more blocking to flatten them out better but on the whole, I'm rather pleased with it, the fit and all.

Veronica did have a not-so-smooth debut though. When I put it on on Saturday to go out with the children and husband to a Christmas fair at the mall in Central, the first reaction of husband was: "You're not going to wear that are you?" accompanied with a grimace. Ha, the good thing is that I'm not faint-hearted when it comes to such blunt opinions from my husband so I wore it anyway and made him take these photos.
Veronica at the Christmas-y mall.

The pattern is Veronica from Louisa Harding's Winter Muse Classic and it took 6.5 balls of RYC Cashsoft (which is so soft). I used 3.3 mm (Clover 4) needles for the borders and 3.75mm for the main body to get gauge and pretty much followed the pattern as written except for the garter stitch picot edge which I started with crochet provisional cast on and grafted the edges together to minimise bulk at the seam. I'm happy with my garter stitch grafting too, much better than the seed stitch attempt I did for Trellis Cardigan.

That looks sooo goood on you!! (I wish I could wear something that didn't hide my belly.) Good thing you weren't fazed by what your husband said. ;-) Do you have plans for the leftover yarn?

It's lovely! I just don't understand the husband's comment ... he doesn't find it beautiful? Sometimes I don't comprehend how the male brain functions!

It's pretty.
Seems like you are knitting up a storm? Does the cold weather in HK have anything to do with it? :)

I'm curious to know what your husband did want you to wear. Good for you for wearing it anyway! It looks wonderful, and like others said, very fashionable.

Veronica came out beautiful! You do such meticulous work. I am planning to knit this in the future, even though grafting the border scares me a little. It looks really lovely on you, I am glad you kept wearing it even after that comment. Men have no clue when it comes to fashion.

I'm totally eating my heart out! Fantastic! I must buy the book, one of the models has my name!
What was wrong with wearing it to the mall??? I don't get it. Men don't have fashion sense, anyway.
