Puffy be it
Vintage top, which should have nice little cap sleeves, ended up with bigger, puffier sleeves. And I'm sticking with them. Tell me that the sleeves make me look like a fashion disaster and I think I can still live with that; I'll just move on with other things on the needles for the last few days of August like the blue Phildar cardigan or the Tweedy Aran Cardigan or start something new altogether, and try to make up my mind on the September stashbuster. So here it is, the last centimeters of ribbing done and tubular cast off (yay!) and sleeves sewn in.
Here are some photos, you see always the same backdrop, always the same pose. Husband is very busy and I daren't ask for more. And here is the still shot. It took 4 balls (I think) of GGH Bali which has incredible yardage of 145m per 50g. I still have 2 balls of this pale mint coloured yarn (#91) left but can't remember whether I have 6 or 8 to start with. That's how short my memory is these days.

I have been reading your blog for awhile now and I have to tell you that I love your taste! This vintage sweater is super cute and I wish I could get my hands on the pattern.....ps, I don't think the sleeves are too puffy!

I would think the "puffier" sleeve caps would make it more comfortable to wear ... at least for me! Have I told you we share the same temperament for leftover yarns? I just hate having any leftover ... that's why I felt so happy for having made the Three for the Road bag using leftovers! ;)

The sleeves (and the rest) make you look like the OPOSITE of a fashion disaster! Way to go!!

That's so sweet! Ok, you've convinced me to knit this top too :-) I don't think the cap sleeves are puffy at all... pretty, yes but not puffy!

On the contrary - it is stunning and you look like anything BUT a fashion disaster. A fashion icon is more like it! I actually don't like the little cap sleeves - they look uncomfortable.

The sleeves look fine and the neckline is very flattering. I have to get the boys to take photos, so you're one step ahead of me! :)

I think it fits you very well. The sleeves are so pretty and let me remind you, you've had 6 calls of GGH Bali to start with.

The top is cute on you. Might I prefer it with tight little cap sleeves? Probably. But it doesn't look at all bad the way that it is.
Let me recommend that you get a mini tripod for your camera (make sure the camera has a hole on the bottom before you buy). I use a mini tripod for all my shots because, frankly, my husband is a lousy photographer. It is cheap and easy to set up on furniture to get the right height for the shot.
