Not exactly a mishap but knitting gone not quite right. Both stitch and row gauges are off. And the fabric is too floppy to my liking. I've got to rip anyway to recalculate and maybe I'll just swatch for something else. Greensleeve and I are not clicking.

I cast on for Retro Ribs with Clover 3 and started to knit the leg with Clover 2. Much too loosey goosey than my swatch. Took a closer look and found that somehow, I mixed up the two sets of needles. I've bought a set of Clover 1 and will knit with those instead.

Came back from Ola Kala performance on Friday night too tired to knit. Just received Schaeffer Anne yarn (colour #30) from Knitting Zone and thought excitingly I'd quickly wind up the yarn so that I can swatch the next day. This is the mess that resulted. Are there any professional untanglers out there?
Good luck with the untangling! I used to get my dad to help out with it - he would say that it was just like untangling fishing line. :-)

I've been having the same kinds of issues with my knitting all week. Must be something going around. There's a woman in my knitting group who loves to untangle yarn. I wish I could send her over there to help you.

Siow Chin, recently I have not done too much progress on my kniting because of similar problems as yours. It's kind frustating but I notice that many of us, knitters, go through this stage. About untangling, I wouldn't mind to have a next door lady that would love to do it.

Lately I've been ripping and frogging too. If Greensleeve is not inspiring you, never mind, there are lots of lovely patterns out there that would be great for the pretty green yarn. Sorry to see that lovely yarn in tangles. :(

*hugs* Funny you have a tangling problem too. It's like a puzzle that's waiting to be solved... I spent 2 hours last night re-winding some yarn leftovers! Actually it's a love-hate reltionship, if you can wait until our next meeting, I wouldn't mind tackling the puzzle :P

I remember your green sweater...so you've actually made progress on it, but now you gonna rip it? Is that pair of socks mine ;) and how did you wind that ball of yarn without using the new yarn swift I got? hahhah bring it to our next meeting and I'll help you untangle it. I think I'm pretty good at it.

Ouch! That hurts. One of those horrible knit phrase. I hate tangles. I remember my episode with it. *shudder. All the best to that.

Shame about the green sweater. My oldest son is better than me at untangling. Must be all that practice with the fishing lines. :)

Doesn't it just make you want to scream? I threaten it with the scissors and if that doesn't work, I flutter my eyelashes at DH and try the hopeless female look!

Oh, I'm sorry things aren't going so hot for you :( Schaeffer Anne is really fine stuff and I imagine it would tangle easily. I have some in blue, wound and ready for socks, but clearly, every hank isn't so well behaved. I hope things smile for you again very soon.

It can't be bad - it's a test of patience and a *show* of your love for knitting :P
I did untangle one major mess last time (that's about 500g worth of lacewright yarns off a skein) which took me 2 solid hours of intervention!
Fly me to hongkong and I'll do the work for you! LOL
